Clean air technology: Thermal process
Organic carbons, CO and odour are converted in thermal oxidisers to CO2 and H2O.
Pollutants:
- Organic carbons
- CO
- Odour
Processes:
- Thermal oxidiser (TO) for smaller gas flows or high TOC concentration. Autothermal operation: TOC concentration of approximately 50 g/Nm3
- Thermal oxidiser (TO) with integrated heat exchanger for medium TOC concentration. Autothermal operation: TOC concentration of approximately 20 g/Nm3
- Regenerative thermal oxidiser (RTO) for low TOC concentration and high gas flow. Ceramic heat transfer elements are used to reach a high heat recovery efficiency of up to 97%. Autothermal operation: TOC concentration of approximately 5 g/Nm3.
Operational experiences:
- Odours are completely neutralised
- CO smaller than 10 mg/Nm3
- TOC concentration smaller than 10 mg/Nm3
