Clean air technology: Wet gas cleaning
According to the local emission regulations particles or gaseous pollutants have to be removed from the flue gas.
A wet waste gas cleaning system consists of the following main components:
- Possibly a heat exchanger for heat recovery respectively for reheating the flue gas.
- Possibly a multi-cyclone unit / electrostatic filter for dust removal.
- Quencher as venturi scrubber or pipe quench.
- Scrubber for absorption of the gaseous pollutants.
- Possibly wet electrostatic precipitator for aerosol removal.
- Possibly an activated carbon adsorber for heavy metal or dioxin removal.
- Combination of different processes according to the particular demands on removal efficiency.
The following absorbent agents are applied:
- NaOH, other bases
- Limestone
- H2SO4
- H2O2
Operational experiences:
- Clean gas concentrations of less than German 17. BImSchV are achievable
- Particle removal efficiency up to 99,9 %
- SO2-removal efficiency up to 99,5 %
- HCl-removal efficiency up to 99,5 %
- Great operational experiences with this technology
Advantages:
- Comparatively low investment cost
- Well proved technology
- High removal efficiency for pollutants
- Nearly maintenance-free
- Nahezu wartungsfrei
- Absorbents and reaction products are available as liqu
- High reliability
